Artwork Description
Description
Collection Statement
This series of mixed media paintings are basically a response of my emotions at the beginning of the lockdown. It helped me cope with distress, anxiety in unknow times.
On the bright side, I finally had all the time in the world to pause from teaching at schools and libraries, dedicating most of my evenings to studio time developing and creating new works, the most I created in a single year.
A year after, I’m not sure if I want to go ‘back to normal’ instead, I look forward for new ways, where my artwork and my teaching practice can be exposed, easy accessed and build creative communities worldwide, there are no longer borders!
I use printed calligraphy scrapbook sheets to give a sense of storytelling, gesso, acrylic paint, black sharpies. I also use a coat of varnish to protect pieces from the natural elements.
