Artist Statement

Natural objects - geometric forms - translucent color. Paula Maratea’s digital paintings are a study in paradox. The images convey a sense of movement through space, while at the same time retaining the stillness in a breath. Paula's bold use of color and strong compositional elements convey the intense beauty the artist sees in the world around her, while questioning its very existence. Paula’s digital paintings invite the viewer on a journey of the visual senses.
